About Sundays Pools

Real family. Real pool work. Real day off on Sundays.

I'm Samuel Michaels. I run Sundays Pools out of Sarasota, and I built it because I got tired of watching pool techs work seven days a week with nothing left for the people they loved. So we work six days a week like it matters, and Sundays we go home. That is the whole pitch. Everything else on this page is the why.

Owner Samuel Michaels with his family in Sarasota, the people Sundays Pools closes Sundays for
Sam and the family. The whole reason this company exists.

The story

From a $500,000 pool in Beverly Hills to a $20,000 pool in Bradenton.

Same standards, every time. The pool does not know what it cost. The owner does. We treat both the same.

Before Sundays Pools, I spent eight years on the technician bench in Los Angeles, mostly on celebrity homes in the Hollywood Hills and Beverly Hills. The pools were enormous, the chemistry was watched daily, and the equipment was specified by names you would recognize. I worked alongside crews who treated every visit like a job interview, because in that market, every visit was. A streak on the tile got noticed. A loose impeller got noticed. A late arrival got you replaced by Tuesday.

That standard followed me back to Florida. My wife and I had family in Sarasota, and after the second year of California winters with a newborn, we moved home. I worked for two larger pool service companies in the Bradenton area for a year. Solid companies, both of them. But the pace was punishing. The crews were running seven days a week. Saturdays were a blur. Sundays were "emergency only" which mostly meant: more pool work. The techs I rode with were good people who barely saw their kids.

In 2025 I started Sundays Pools with one rule that was non-negotiable: no work on Sundays. Six days a week we go all in. Same crew on your route every week, same email report on every visit, same standards we learned on $500,000 pools applied to your $20,000 pool. And on Sunday, we are not on your property. We are at home, with our families, where pool people almost never get to be.

That is the company. That is the reason it is called Sundays Pools.

The standards

Five things we learned on the high-end work that we do here too.

Stuff that sounds fussy in a brochure and obvious to anyone who has watched a pool die from one missed week.

  1. 01

Photo report on every visit, every week.

You should never have to wonder if someone was at your pool. We email a photo of the water, the chemistry numbers (free chlorine, pH, alkalinity, stabilizer, salt), every task we did from the 10-point list, and the exact chemicals and dosages. Time in. Time out. The high-end shops have done this for decades. Most Florida pool companies still do not. We do.

  2. 02

Same crew on your route, every visit.

Big pool companies rotate techs through your route. You get a different person every week, none of whom know your equipment, your gate, or your dog. We do not rotate. Your pool gets one tech who learns it, knows when it needs the filter pulled, and notices the small things that prevent the big repairs.

  3. 03

Quote before any work, every time.

On weekly service we tell you the price upfront and bill the same number every month. On repairs we run a $65 flat-rate diagnostic and write you a quote before we touch a wrench. On installs we do the same with a $65 site survey. Nothing gets done that you have not seen on paper first. The price you see is the price you pay.

  4. 04

The Sundays Promise: clear water by Saturday.

If your water is not swim-ready by Saturday, we come back Monday at no charge until it is. We stand on the work. The number of times we have invoked this in the past year: zero, because the work is right the first time. But the promise is in writing on every job.

  5. 05

    One-year installer warranty, in writing.

Every install we do carries a one-year Sundays installer warranty. If the install fails inside twelve months, we redo it free. New equipment carries whatever manufacturer warranty the part comes with on top of that, but the warranty we stand behind is the one on the install itself. That is the warranty we control.

Who works on your pool

Small crew. Big-pool standards.

Samuel Michaels, owner and lead technician

Eight-plus years on residential and high-end commercial pools, including Beverly Hills service work for a private route that included a few names you would recognize from television. CPO certified (Certified Pool Operator) through the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance. Licensed in Florida. Runs every install over $4,000 personally and rides every route on the first visit so each new pool gets the founder's eyes on day one.

Service technicians

Sam hires slow. Every tech on the route has been ride-along trained for at least two weeks before they run a visit on their own. We pay above the Florida pool-service average because the standards are above the Florida pool-service average, and we pay our crew to take Sundays off, because that is the whole point.

Office and scheduling

Calls and texts to (941) 414-1720 reach the same number Sam answers in the field. We are small enough that the person scheduling your visit is the same person who knows your route. No phone tree, no escalation queue.

Why we built it this way

Pool techs deserve a real day off. Pool owners deserve a real report.

A standard Florida pool service company runs seven days a week, sometimes more on storm weeks. Techs work 50, 60, 70 hours. A few of them have kids who only see them in the truck on weekends. The work is hard, the chemistry is unforgiving, and the pay does not scale with the hours. The math does not work for the people doing the work. So they burn out, the quality drops, and the customer eventually finds someone else. The cycle starts again.

Sundays Pools is built on a simpler model: six honest days a week, full transparency on every visit, and a real day off on Sunday for everyone who works here. The crew stays longer because they get to live a real life. The customers stay longer because the same tech keeps coming back. The pool stays clearer because the tech who maintains it knows it. The whole thing compounds.

That is the company. If it sounds like a fit for the way you want your pool taken care of, tell us your ZIP and we will be in touch within a business day. We serve Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice, North Port, and Lakewood Ranch on a six-day weekly route.
