What is your pool actually doing wrong?

My pump is loud, screaming, or vibrating.

Most likely a worn pump bearing or impeller. Bearings wear out at 5 to 7 years on a single-speed pump and 8 to 12 years on a variable-speed. My pool water level keeps dropping.

My automatic cleaner is stuck or not moving.

Suction-side cleaners (Polaris, Hayward Navigator) usually need a new diaphragm or wheel kit. Pressure-side cleaners (Polaris 280, 360) need belts or boost-pump rebuilds. Robotic cleaners (Dolphin, Aquabot) are usually a track or motor issue. Most cleaner repairs run $90 to $180 in parts. We test it in the pool before we leave.

My pool light flickers, will not turn on, or has water inside the housing.
