Pool repair, done right the first time

Hear something new from your pool? We do pool repair in Sarasota the patient way: diagnose first, write the quote, fix it once.

Most pool repair in Sarasota goes one of two ways. Cheap shops swap parts until something works and bill you for all of it. Big chains send a sales rep before the technician. We diagnose first, quote in writing, and fix it with a one-year warranty on every part and every hour of labor.

  • 24-hour diagnosis response in our service area
  • $65 flat diagnostic visit, credited toward repair
  • 1-year warranty on parts and labor, every job

Diagnose before you call

What is your pool actually doing wrong?

Eight out of ten pool repair calls we take in Sarasota match one of these symptoms. Click the one that sounds like yours to see the likely cause and what we will do about it.

My pump is loud, screaming, or vibrating.
Most likely a worn pump bearing or impeller. Bearings wear out at 5 to 7 years on a single-speed pump and 8 to 12 years on a variable-speed. The repair is usually a bearing kit ($95 to $180 in parts) plus an hour of labor. If the impeller is damaged we replace that too. We always check the seal at the same visit because seals and bearings tend to fail together.
My pool heater will not fire or holds a fault code.
Heater faults usually point to one of three things: a clogged or shorted flame sensor, a stuck gas valve, or a tripped pressure switch from low water flow. Pentair, Raypak, and Hayward heaters each have their own fault-code language and we read them all. Most heater repairs we do in Sarasota run $180 to $450 depending on whether the part is a sensor or a board.
My salt system says "low salt" but I just added salt.
Almost always a scaled-up salt cell. Calcium scale insulates the cell plates so the system reads them as failing. We pull the cell, acid-wash it (or replace it if the plates are below 30 percent), and recalibrate the controller. Cell cleanings run $40, replacements $350 to $750 depending on the size and brand.
My pool water level keeps dropping.
Florida pools lose about a quarter inch a day to evaporation. Anything more than that is a leak. We pressure-test the plumbing, dye-test the skimmers and returns, and isolate the leak before quoting. About 40 percent of the leaks we find are at the pump union or the multiport valve, both of which are quick fixes. Liner and shell leaks are a different category and we will be honest about whether you need a leak-detection specialist.
My filter pressure is climbing fast or sitting at zero.
High pressure means the filter is clogged or the impeller is restricted. Zero pressure usually means a torn cartridge, a broken DE manifold, or air being pulled at the pump intake. Either way we have you back to normal flow in one visit. Cartridge replacements run $80 to $220, DE grid kits run $180 to $360, multiport valve rebuilds $120 to $240.
My automatic cleaner is stuck or not moving.
Suction-side cleaners (Polaris, Hayward Navigator) usually need a new diaphragm or wheel kit. Pressure-side cleaners (Polaris 280, 360) need belts or boost-pump rebuilds. Robotic cleaners (Dolphin, Aquabot) are usually a track or motor issue. Most cleaner repairs run $90 to $180 in parts. We test it in the pool before we leave.
My pool light flickers, will not turn on, or has water inside the housing.
Water in the housing is a bad gasket and is a same-visit fix, $60 to $120. Flickering is usually corrosion at the GFCI breaker, also a same-visit fix. A dead light is either the bulb (if incandescent), the LED driver (if color-changing), or the transformer. We bring all three on the truck and only charge for what we install.

How we work

The diagnosis-first pool repair approach.

The shortest path from "broken" to "fixed" is to actually understand what is wrong before swapping parts. Here is the order of operations on every pool repair Sarasota call we run.

"The cheapest pool repair is the one we diagnose right the first time. Twice the time on diagnosis is half the time on the repair, and zero callbacks under warranty. That is the math." Samuel Michaels, Owner

Sam's diagnostic pad

Tap a piece of your pool's equipment. See what Sam looks at first.

Every pool repair starts with the same diagram in Sam's head. Here it is, mapped out the way he reads it on a service call. Tap a component to see how it fails, what the fix usually runs, and the first thing he checks.

Not sure which one is yours? Snap a picture of your pad and text it to (941) 414-1720. Sam will tell you what's there and what to watch within an hour, no charge for the look. We work to the standards published by the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance, the industry body that sets training and safety guidelines for pool service technicians nationwide.

Transparent pricing

What pool repair costs in Sarasota.

One flat fee to come look. One written number before any work starts. No surprises stitched into the invoice.

Diagnostic visit

$65/ flat

Credited 100 percent toward the repair if you authorize the work. Not credited if you decline, because the diagnosis itself is the deliverable.

What sets the price inside the band.

Every category above shows a range. Where your repair lands inside that range comes down to four things, and we walk you through each on the diagnostic visit before we quote a number.

Part vs full unit
Replacing a single component (a flame sensor, a pump capacitor, a salt cell) sits at the bottom of the band. Replacing the whole unit sits at the top.
Brand and model tier
A Pentair IntelliFlo3 is not the same part as a SuperFlo. A Hayward H400 is not the H150. We quote the part that fits your actual equipment, never a generic average.
Access and condition
A clean, open pad is an hour of labor. A pad packed against a wall with corroded fittings takes longer. We tell you which one yours is on the diagnostic visit, before you commit.
Same-day vs ordered
If the part is on the truck and you authorize, we do it then and there. If we have to order it in, we come back. Either way, the quote is the quote, no return-trip surcharge.

The pricing model

Four things you get on every Sundays repair, no exceptions.

  • 01
A written quote and photos before any tool comes out. You read it, you ask questions, you sign off. No work happens before that.
  • 02
The same technician for the diagnosis and the fix. No handoff to a second person who has not seen your equipment, your gate latch, or your dog.
  • 03
Diagnosis before parts. We rule out the $30 capacitor before we suggest the $400 motor. Photos of the actual fault on the invoice, every job.
  • 04
If we miss something obvious on the first visit, the return is on us. The diagnostic is the deliverable. We stand behind it.
One-year warranty

Every repair we do, parts and labor included. If the same component fails for the same reason inside twelve months, we are back on the property at no charge. The warranty card prints on your invoice.

Why hire Sundays for the repair

Five reasons our pool repair ends differently than the chain shops.

Diagnosis before parts. The same tech for the diagnosis and the fix. Photos before and after, on the invoice, every job.

  1. 01

    Same crew every visit.

Big pool companies rotate techs through your route. Yours could be a different person every visit, none of whom know your equipment. We assign a single technician to your pool. They learn the pump, the gate latch, and the dog's name.

  2. 02

Photo report, in your inbox, every visit.

Most pool services are a black box: the water is somehow clean, an invoice arrives at the end of the month. With us, you get a photo and the full chemistry numbers every visit. Trust by default, not on faith.

  3. 03

Sam has 8+ years on high-end pools.

Including pool work for celebrity homes in Los Angeles before moving home to Florida. The standards he learned on a $500,000 pool in Beverly Hills are the same standards he holds on a $20,000 pool in Bradenton.

  4. 04

    Closed Sundays, for family.

Pool people work every day of the year, and most never see their kids on a weekend. Samuel built this company so his crew gets one real day with their families. You get six days of crystal-clear care, plus a weekend to enjoy it.

  5. 05

The Sundays Promise: clear by Saturday.

If your water is not swim-ready by the weekend, we come back Monday at no extra charge until it is. No invoices for any service that did not deliver clear water. We stand on the work.

Common questions

Pool repair questions homeowners ask.

How fast can a pool repair tech get to my house in Sarasota?
We respond to most pool repair calls in Sarasota within 24 hours. Emergency calls (no filtration, electrical short, major leak) are usually same-day. We carry common parts on the truck so a lot of repairs are diagnosed and finished in one visit.
Do you charge for the diagnostic visit?
Diagnostic visits are $65, flat. The $65 is fully credited toward the cost of the repair if you authorize the work the same day. If you decline, the $65 covers the diagnosis and the written report. No bait pricing.
What pool equipment brands do you service?
We service every major Florida pool equipment brand: Pentair, Hayward, Jandy, Polaris, AquaPure, Raypak, Sta-Rite, and Aqua-Vac. If you have something rare, we still take a look at it. Most pool equipment shares a common service language even when the brand is unfamiliar.
Do you offer a warranty on pool repair work?
Yes. Every pool repair we do in Sarasota carries a one-year parts and labor warranty. If the same component fails again within twelve months we come back and fix it at no charge. Manufacturer warranties on new parts run separately and we register them for you.
Will you give me a quote before starting the repair?
Always. We never start work without a written quote you have approved. The quote breaks down parts, labor, and any disposal fees. If something unexpected comes up mid-repair, we stop and call before adding cost. The price you see is the price you pay.
Can my pool repair be covered by my home warranty?
Sometimes. Most home warranties have a pool-and-spa rider that covers equipment, but the deductible plus the warranty's contractor markup often costs more than going direct. If you have a home warranty, we will tell you honestly whether to use it. We do not bill home warranties because the lead times kill repair urgency.
